Lightning struck twice in San Diego. DC unleash the wrath of the gods with the new Shazam! 2 Trailer during a panel at Comic-Con, where Warner Bros. Also for fans, an exciting look at Shazam’s anti-champion rival: Dwayne Johnson black Adam. Zachary Levi, who’s back where he summoned the adult superhero when teenage Billy Batson (Usher Angel) said the magic word, took the stage in Hall H on Saturday to tease the DC sequel in theaters December 21. Chosen as the hero of an ancient wizard (Djimon Hounsou), Billy possesses the wisdom of Solomon, the strength of Hercules, the strength of Atlas, the strength of Zeus, the courage of Achilles, and the speed of Mercury when he transforms into an adult superhero (Levy) by chanting the magic word “Shazam!” But in director David F. Sandberg’s follow-up to 2019 Shazam!, 17-year-old Billy Batson is on the cusp of adulthood and is wondering about his future with his foster family.

By the end of the first movie, Billy shares his magical abilities with his five siblings: Freddy Freeman (Jack Dylan Grazer), Mary Broomfield (Grace Fulton), Eugene Choi (Ian Chin), Pedro Peña (Jovan Armand), and Darla Dudley (Faith Hermann). Together, they are members of the super powerful Shazam, Mary (Fulton), Adult Freddy (Adam Brody), Adult Eugene (Ross Butler), Adult Pedro (DJ Cotrona), and Adult Darla (Meagan Goode).

Angel said when introducing Shazam! 2 A sneak peek at CinemaCon in April. “In the last couple of years, he has grown up a lot. He has matured and has been able to balance himself well. But adulthood is on the horizon for him and that’s kind of scary because he doesn’t know what’s going to happen when he’s 18. He doesn’t know if he’s going to have to leave foster family or go elsewhere.”

Angel continued, “He doesn’t really know what’s going to happen. This weighs heavily on him, and he’s kind of trying to enjoy the moment and be with his family, be with his loved ones and have these superpowers because he’s always ever and more.”
